Whereabouts are you in Northern CA? My folks live in Yreka.
I'd drive the 150 miles and enjoy the ride. My 1950 B1PW has been driven up the Alcan from Southern California several times and that was pulling a travel trailer. This was the previous owner and made the trips with no problems. BTW it was all stock with the exception he was running 1200x16 aircraft tires on the military combat wheels. Best of luck.
