CJ, The 2001 has a very bad fuel pump. It's electric & mounted to the engine...the ol' cummins shakes them apart. Unfortunately you can't go back to the mechanical pump because although the mounting hole is still there in 2001, the cam didn't get an eccentric ground into it to run the pump.

They have been recommending a different pump that isn't mounted on the engine & if you ask for Mark he can tell you all about the problems associated with having the pump mounted where Cummins put it.
