Mark, I am 100% with you. I day dream about having one of my trucks look brand new. But I will never take that step. Not because they are too nice to restore, (they have their faults that are usually not shown in the photos I share of them because of some creative photography), but because I agree with your line,"Like having your cake and eating it too." I only paid $1,000 for my WDX back in 1980. Granted, that was a long time ago and there was not the interest in these trucks there is today. $1000 was still a lot of money back then for an old truck, but not compared to what they bring now. This truck has paid for itself many times over. I have forgotten most of the stuff I have hauled with it. A newer truck would have cost me much more and would not have done the jobs any better. A newer one would also have depreciated. My WDX has increased in value. And that is even with the scratches and dents I have put on it along with the wear of time. But these do not worry me. I would not be able to use a refurbished or restored truck they way I like and enjoy for fear of damaging it and losing money. Not that I am out to make money on it. I make my money on it by the tasks I complete by using it. But, the real value for me is found in the enjoyment. My wife or nephew may make money on it someday, but that will be up to them.

By the way, nice WDX you have there Mark!

Clint
