My PW's have taken many 100+ mile trips with few problems. I transported a large tank from a trona mine to my house once, I had to get an overload permit before the trip. I also hauled a '48 PW with a snowplow behind my '49 PW a distance of 40+ miles on I-80 once. Several times a year, I will make 100+ mile trips in my '49 PW.
One big caution, don't travel after dark if you can avoid it - PW lights are typically poor and being slow moving creates a big hazard!
