Seriously, with fewer moving parts, and nearly NO wear at all, there is less to go wrong, no degrading of performance (points start wearing from the instant you install them) and a stronger, hotter spark from the ECU. Plugs will last 12,000+ miles, mileage goes up, and power is greater. If your electric starter breaks you are screwed also Martin, but I still replaced my crank with a key = ). There are no moving parts in the Mopar electronic system, almost nothing to break. Only a "mirror" to keep clean. = )
