Hmm..This is a tuff question. I have ran, Mopar flathead sixes, slant sixes, the Chevy-GM Inline six, the Ford sixes, both the small and large, and the AMC-Jeep sixes, and the old Rambler Sixes. Honestly as far as inline sixes go, the Cummins 5.9 is the best...BUT for Gassers, Id say it'd be a tie between the Chrysler Slant six and the Ford 300 six. The Ford has gear drive timing (a plus) and due to large displacement, has more power and gobs of torque. Hmm..hard to decide here. Due to their design, the ol inline six has the advanatages of High torque and long life, and with proper gearing, good fuel economy.
