norm my wifes grandpa once said that they used to put 600 weight gearoil in rear diffs in vehicles. in the winter the stuff would freeze and the rears would blow do to the fact oil would not get to any moving parts.i was thinking that 600 gearoil was pretty crude oil in its day.thank god for castrol i say.
