I've been told an M37 transmission will fit on the WDX bellhousing. The M37 used two different styles of NP420s. Both were synchronized in high gear only.
I'm looking for one myself. The shift lever is farther forward, so you can use a later style PW transmission cover (floor section). I think that also neccitates using one of the later style floor pans too, but I don't remember which one.
If you have a PTO, you will need a '57 and up PW brake pedal.
