If you don't have too large a lawn purchase a gravely model l. As powerwagons are to trucks, gravely's are to lawn tractors. I have two of these small tractors both made back in the 1940's and they work flawlessly. They have a cast iron trans with an integral engine. The wheel bearings in this thing are about as big as those in my PW and it is only and 8 hp tractor. On the front they have a four bolt pto mount where a whole array of implements can be bolted on. Also the engine is pressure lubricated.
