Both outfits were still around and going strong last time I checked. I had a bad experience with Specter on the phone when I first got into cruisers, got the same dipshit sales guy with attitude twice in once week. He was one of the rudest people I have spoken with, ever. As you can imagine I like to make a point of buying from the competition. But I love Spectre's catalog and they have a good reputation although I have seen some other people referring to bad phone manners.
You can get most anything for a landcruiser but it isn't cheap, couple of parts rigs as lawn decor is the best way to go.
In Albany, OR there's a shop called "Landcruiser Specialities" that comes highly recommended.
