....scrap iron and tractors, but I use 4 racket straps, 3" wide, 140,000 lb. rated, made in the USA racket straps. One strap at each corner, attached to the axles. They don't damage the vehicle, they are tighter than chains and work well in any weather conditions. I don't get the bearing damage thing, WHAT, is turning to damage the bearings?? Sounds like a old wife's tale to me?
Last tip, add about 10 lbs of air to each tire, AFTER, the load is secured, and you'll really be tied down tight.
