10' should be minimum. I have a 10 ' door and whish it were 12 most of the time. Say your truck is 1' off door pulling in and another truck is parked there in adjoining bay, your trucks would be only about 40 inches apart. That is door bangiong teritroy especially with W-series let it fly type door hinges! I try to be careful but if someone without experience opens your door without holding on like kids are famous for doing, you will be bummed regardless of the type of vehicle. The cost is more to go bigger but you will not regret it.
