not # 2 piston
Vaughn's quick 4 step check is right on
mike's other check
remove radiator cap look at the inside
oily crud = head gasket
pull dip stick out watery oil = head gasket
pour some oil down the cylinder and recheck
compression if it comes up then that is an
indication of piston/ring problem if not
problem = exhaust valve
a proper compression check always includes the second check with oil in cyl to check rings
there is no quick fix to anything
but does sound like the valve which is a
fairly easy fix but you will need to have
the seat ground and that will probably require the services of a "Mobile Mechanic"
who has the equipment to do these jobs when
it is not practical to move the equipment to
a shop
GET A SHOP MANUAL and read it carefully if
you do not know what you are doing or what valve lash is you might do more damage with a
DIY
