I've decided to go the GMRS route since as you have noted the FRS is only a 1/2 watt. The question is the T5920 is a 1 watt GMRS unit(as is most of the small handhelds) while the T7200 is a 2 watt with repeater access. ("8 GMRS 2 Watt Repeater Channels" in the product spec) The 1 watt doesn't mention anything about using repeaters in its' specs so I'm assuming their has to be some feature enabled to use them ? Also how do you identify/locate available repeaters ? Lastly, in the FCC info it says you need to ID what freq you want to use. What do you need to know when picking one ? Thanks for the info.
