This "test" is a crock, no matter how you pronounce it. I am descended from New Englanders (six generations back) and live in Eastern Long Island, and speak a form of American similar to New Englanders, with some influence from New York City.
I quit the test at #5. 3,4, and 5 all told me that I come from the midwest, Chicago, etc.
I won't go into the boring details of why, but when I was an investigator of military criminals, one aspect of my job was to listen to men's voices and determine where they were from. I just had a knack for it. No other explanation. I can still pretty much tell what state a guy is from, by listening to his voice.
