Your body tag numbers are after that for some 1948 trucks, and before that of some 1950 trucks, but again almost all my numbers are from Detroit built trucks, which should not make a differance, as Budd made all the cabs (maybe not all at one plant?).

The closest numbers I have are:

4312-11137 from a 1948

4312-13914 from a late 49 or 50

I don't know of anyone collecting this data in CA, so I can't compare.

In a couple years I hope to have noted enough info to clarify this sort of thing better.

I have asked on the forum for info like this a couple times, but I have not gotten much info, I have to just go out and collect it myself, one truck at a time.

The HP question was just to give a ballpark, early WDXs are 72 at 2800 and the HP goes up every couple of years. 74 is correct for 1949, 82 is correct for 1952 etc.

I have just started to collect this data in a serious way, I have been noting numbers from trucks for years, but I did not note all info, and it was not in any easy to use form.

I welcome data like this, it will help me with the next person who asks!

By the way, your truck is a factory pickup, right? What color is it now, and what was the factory color?

Eric
