I don't know the condition of the winch as the vehicle did not run when I got it but I did notice the housing on one side scrapes the drum in one spot. The previous owner of the truck said he got it from a guy how owed him money, he used the winch to get out of the woods but pulled himself out backwards tearing off the gas tank, running boards and folding the drivers door in half so the winch must have worked back then. What I bought was what was left
