My '53 B3 has just over 29,000 on it, and I just had the engine rebuilt after it tossed a connecting rod. My impression is that these trucks are their own worst enemy in that they vibrate and shake themselves to death. Mine has lots of welded-up tears and cracks in the sheet metal. Just those square-tooth gears will self-destruct due to wear, but sure are built tough. I have evidence that my engine ran for many hours just powering the winch, so the mileage on the odometer can be misleading if the truck were used for stationary duty like winching timber or sawing logs.
