If there is a battery in it, and it's working. Count the cell caps where you would add water, multiply them by tow equals the volts. 3 cells=6vlt, 6=12, 12=24. Usually a 24 volt system has two 12 batteries in series for the 24 volts.
Hope that wasn't sounding dumb. You may check the light bulb bases for #'s and compare them to store #'s. Also headlight #'s could tell. If it has a blackout drive light, look for a step down resistor above the drivers side kick panel under the dash. If it has a step down, it was 12 volts with the step down for the six volt light.
