Okay, so I went and looked at it. Right near San Francisco.

Engine # T214252033, I couldn't read the frame. Not a P/W, but military?

Pretty much all there. Painted yellow over what was olive drab. The engine looks to be the best part of the truck, even with a crack. Needs points and distributor cap.
Has a wood/iron flatbed that might be military. The front driveshaft is missing (dunno if he has it). All of the body panels are dented, etc., but the rust doesn't seem too bad.
It's misssing all the glass, with just a pane in front of the driver. The interior is all there, with the exception of the gauges. The seat is shot, but that's to be expected.
Pedals move freely, no pressure. Tires are worn and cracked, with the passenger side not holding air. No winches or anything like that.

Basically, this thing is a minus 1 on a scale of 1 to 10 cosmetically. Mechanically, it needs quite a bit I'm sure, but is much better than the body. As a friend of mine would say "a typical Vince Project".

He's asking $500 or best offer, and he admits he would like to get rid of it. I'm tempted, but there are two problems:

1) I could not put anything this awful in my apartment's parking garage unless it looked like it might run.
2) I could get a friend of mine to grab a trailer and tow it with his Surburban. Getting it out of the private junkyard it's in and onto the trailer would be the hardest part.

I am wondering if there are any serious Power Wagon nuts out there who might have a place I could keep this thing and get it into running condition (I use that term loosely)? Need not be indoors. And, is there anyone out there
who wants to see this thing saved and wouldn't mind helping get this thing to a new home and some basic advice.... to a point where it moves under it's own power?

I realize that I'm asking a lot, but I've been doing this with cool old cars for other people and I just plain enjoy knowing that they ain't getting crushed.

Thanks for the info, advice, whatever!
