a couple of you asked about the wipers on my m37 that is currently for sale.

here is the text of a letter I sent to the PWA a while back.

here goes:
Dear Gordon:

In rebuilding my 1963 M-37B1, I have made a few improvements for safety's sake. The most significant modification that I have made to my vehicle is the addition of electric windshield wipers. The wipers that I used are 24 volt industrial equipment motors. They are not the throw-away plastic units found in the J.C. Whitney Catalog. The units are built of steel and brass and are waterproofed for extreme weather conditions. The motors fit in the place of the originals with very little modification. A new 1/8" hole must be drilled in the windshield frame to hold the motor in place. Additionally, the shaft hole must be enlarged to accept the new unit. The units have built-in on/off switches to allow independent operation. They have standard hubs that accept wiper arms and blades available at any parts store. When I installed them in my vehicle, I ran the positive lead through the original vacuum hose. I left the rigid hose attached to the windshield frame and snaked the wire through it. It is a neat, clean and functional installation. I am now able to drive the truck in the snow, mud and rain with greatly improved visibility. These units can be purchased through:

Ted's Electrical Service
5977 Court St. Rd.
Syracuse, NY 13206
(315)463-8569

The model # is WWF24C19210. The units cost approximately $85 each. They are also available in 6 and 12 volt ratings. I believe that they should fit all other variations of Military Dodges with similar windshield frames. Ted's also sells the appropriate wiper blades
and arms for your application. I hope I have been of some help in solving a common problem. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at (212) 813-0147.
