I read about the Mustang II dash in Street Rodder Mag. Your right, they are 12 volt throughout. They said the dash guages were or had some 6 volt stepdown, I'm not sure which or how many (MAY) have. I'm not of VW ilk. I was guessing about the years to search, but this was one of the few vehicles I've heard of that had six volts beyond the 50's.
