I have a 79 powerwagon 4x4 with the factory 318iin it., I came across a 440 and trans for 300.00 from a friend of mine. I plan on puttin it in the truck hopefully by next summer once I go thru it. My questions are 1) Will the brackets that bolt to the block that are on the current motor work on the 440? These are the metal towers I call them that then bolt to the mount down on the frame. 2) The trans I have came out of a car and has the long tailshaft will I have to change the output shaft in the trans to work with the transfer case thats in the truck now? 3) I do not have a truck oil pan for this 440 does it really matter if it has one on it or not? If I have to change the output shaft from my current trans is it a major undertaking? The truck is raised up 5and a half inches and has a 3inch body lift so I will not have to have the truck small power brake booster because there is plenty of room in the back to clear the valve cover.Any help out there on this would really be appreciated very very much because where I live hardly any one drives old Dodge trucks all they drive are the brand X trucks. Thanks in advance. Ron
