Hi guys,

I am looking for a Carter ball and ball carb. that fits our 230 flathead motors.

I am currently working on a 1917 Model T Ford, Speedster, and we just got the engine back and I need a different carb. to try out. The fellow who built the engine said a 6-cylinder size carburator would work better on my engine than the Chalmers-Grove carb. I have that came off a ealy Lincoln V-8. I figured since our Power Wagons run a flathead straight six the carb would be just ideal.

For you technical guys out there: (We took a 1917 Model T engine block bored the cylinders out .080 over, put in balenced Aluminum pistons, 7:1 high compression head, this is a flathead engine, changed the stock 1.25" intake and exhaust valves to 1.50" intake and exhaust valves, enlarged intake and exhaust ports to 1.50, threw away the stock Model T camshaft and put a Model A camshft with a high lift grind and finally a 2" intake manifold with a single barrel downdraft carb instead of the stock 1.25 updraft carb. We bumped the horsepower from 25hp to nearly 55hp.)

I know it not technically a Power Wagon question but I figured you guys could help me with locating a carb. better then anyone else could.

If you guys get a chance here is our clubs website, www.nwvs.org, it has many of our clubs members speedster as well as picture of classic speedsters.

Thanks for putting up with a kind of off the subject of Power Wagons question!

Chris Becker
