First of all whipper snapper, let's have a little respect for us geezers!
Second, you're looking at second best, the pre ISB Cummins.
I have driven the new ISB High Output Cummins, way more power, and better mileage with nearly no diesel noise whatsoever. It is one nice truck. The new Cummins 600 looks to be better yet.
Just so you know, I had a 7.3 powerjoke before that. 3 motors and two trannies in 150,000 miles. We had a fleet of ferd diesels. All experienced terminal motor problems, none of the problems were the same. One of my workers has a new Dura Max Izusu gm, he just spent (gm did under warantee) $4,800+, he lost 6 injectors after about 18 months. I have two sub contractors and one inspector and all three have the new ferd diesel, all are having problems, ferd is buying two of them back. They leak like there is no tomorrow, (my Cummins is now 19 months old and not one drop of oil anywhere) every engine gasket on the ferds leak, the pumps are leaking, etc. etc.
The only thing wrong with my Cummins is that I didn't do it sooner!! The mileage keeps getting better, the truck is flawless. If I live long enough, I'll buy another!
