We've talked about this...powder coating would work great on Fenders & running boards. It's way harder than paint & has a tendancy to peel/chip if the surface wasn't prep'd properly but if you chose a reputable shop it's way harder than paint.
Keep in mind, you won't be able to use any body filler on any of the panels.
I'm told that Harley davidson has powder coated their tanks & fenders for a few years now.
