any type of rim failure of multi piece wheels in serviceable condition (straight, rust free, no cracks, all parts with matching numbers) and when used correctly (with the correct size & type of tire inflated to factory specs and not overloaded )used on the vehicle it was designed for are very rare. installations
the 6.50x16 wheels used on WDX-WM300/M37 are very strong wheels designed to carry the loads
that the trucks they were installed on could carry.
ALL truck tire work should (OSHA regulations = Must) be done by a trained professional !! and they will always inspect wheels for the conditions i listed above for serviceabilty before assembling
on the home page go to Cabel's site and he
has (under the tire section) the load charts for both wheels and tires
you will notice on the 6.50x16 PW wheels that the bead seat area is about 1.25in which matches the Bead Width of the 9.00x16 tire
this allows for the transmission of the torque from the wheel bead area to the tire bead area and then thru the sidewall to the tread (where the rubber meets the road)
OTM (old tire man 20years)
ps: remember that most of the pw wheels are
between 40 and 50 years old
if you have any doubts you could get the pieces x-rayed for cracks
the wheels and the locking rims both have numbers stamped and that is what matched means the numbers must be the same
