My old G3 has no virus protection at all. No programs. No firewalls. No cleaning software. No ongoing costs. No virus problems ever. Knock on beige.
Could it happen on a Mac? I guess it's possible but I don't know anyone. Not a put down here but if you don't have to go with the Microsoft/IBN/windows stuff switch. Or read on.
A good used Power Mac 7500 costs about $25-50. A good Power Mac G3 tower goes for about $100. Use them as they come or upgrade them. They are the most upgradeable Macs ever made.
Don't want to switch? Fine. Use the Power Mac just for your e-mail service and online banking. Just add the Mac to your system. For a one time $25-$50 cost...end of problem period. A good PM 7500/G3 is way cheaper than a temporary Microsoft or whatever "keep" paying through the nose non fix. Why keep dealing with this never ending "BS"
