I am putting front axle back together after recieving parts. I put roller bearings in place of the bronze cones on the upper trunnion pins. How important is it to get 25 to 28 lbs. of preload on the steering knuckle bearings? We have got not quite 20 lbs., is this to light? What will be the problems?
Also the manual says to use chassis lubricant in the axle housing where the universal joints run. Is this regular gun grease or something thinner?
Got bottom of seat recovered and four new shocks.Can't wait to get it back on the road. Maybe it will drive pretty decent for the first time since I bought it.

Thanks;
Hickory
