I have questions ye modern Dodge experts...I have a 2001 47RE that I want to install in a very old truck. It's going on the back of a 2001 Cummins engine & it's going in a W300.
The question is not "IF"...it is going in.
The question is this...I'm told the engine is easy to make go in a truck with no electronics in the dash & can be up & running within an hour of being installed.
I need to know what's involved in making that tranny shift without electronic speedo & all the other sensors & nonesense.
The computer is on the engine & I'm told the transmission harness plugs to this computer.
I imagine it relies on data from the instruments that run to that computer but I need to know how to bypass all that crap & make it shift?
There's a guy not far from here that's done it but I don't know him or how to reach him.
Surely a guy that works on these transmissions must know what they require & if this can happen without having to butcher my dash like so many other conversions.
Does anyone know about this stuff or know any shops that are capable of dealing with this type of electronic nightmare?
