I replaced the bronze cone in a 70 w200 with the tapered bearing. Steering is tighter, no woander, no shimmy. I had to replace the bronze bushings a couple times in a short amount of time as they would enlongate the cneterhole for no apparent reason. Have had the bearing installed for many years with no problems. Personally I would toss the bronze cone and forget that they were ever used
