Wilbur's a great truck.
There is one problem with Wilbur...it's too nice to restore but not quite nice enough to leave as is.
I would have been into Wilbur for over $16,000 by the time I did a mechanical restoration & really, unless you live in a very dry climate, Wilbur needs to be garaged & kept out of the elements or it will disintigrate like so many other good ol' Power Wagons.
There is literally no paint on any of the horizontal surfaces so it needs to have paint work no matter if you like them original or not. The only exception to that is if you like to destroy them.
It's a VERY straight & rust free truck in need of a full mechanical going over. It runs & drives & oil pours out of every seal just like 95% of unrestored trucks.
It seems like a big price tag for a restoration project but once you start pricing new bed sides, paying bodymen to replace floor panels & fix rusted fenders etc etc...it's really not very expensive.
It really all just depends whether you eventually want a straight rust-free truck or whether you're happy driving an old beater that you don't mind driving hard.
I don't know anyone that would be dissapointed with Wilbur's condition...not even Fussy ol' Clint Dixon!
