I just got a differential spider gear kit from A. B. Linn. It came in a simple brown box with part numbers plainly stamped in black ink. Inside were 5 or 6 more little brown boxes and sleeves with thick cosmoline covering similar labels. Who knows how long this stuff has been sealed up? And I got it all for $12! I've previously gotten wonderful, though more expensive NOS parts from Midwest Military and Vintage Power Wagons.
Does anybody else feel guilty opening and consuming these parts that have been preserved for so many decades? It is almost as if this stuff was preserved to be entombed with the pharohs.
