If you turn on the lights, then ALL other accessories do the lights & ammeter hold their own or drop? It should be DC on a generator but there are a lot of electrical gurus here that will tell you the proper test procedure if they are home. If the battery is charged it may not show positive. If you shut it down, leave the lights on, etc. & restart then it show a charge. Best regards, George
