Hi guys,

I have a chance to buy a 1965 or 66 W200 here. It looks to be in real good shape.

Question is, what do I look for on the W200 Power Wagons that would detract from buying it. I know now what to look for in FF, but this is the first W series I have been interested in. I have been driving by it for the last two weeks in my transfer going to and coming from a jobsite.

This Particular truck is a W200 Camper Special, has a 318 V-8, Np 435 with a spare transmission and transfer case in the bed, Dana 60 front axle also a spare in the bed, Spicer 41 rear axle. The body is straight overall. A few minor dings and dents in the body but no serious damage, it does'nt look like it has been hit. There is some cancer on the driver's side floor under the brake and clutch pedals and the passenger door, bottom corner. It has about 10 - 12 degrees of play on the steering, probably worn bushings in drag link or tie rod ends. The guy wants between $900.00- $1200.00 for it, I am going to assume this is a good price.

Big Question: could I use this truck to safely pull my '48 FF Power Wagon to events on a two or thee axle trailer, or should I find a W300 with a larger engine in it?

Thanks for the help on this troubling question.

Chris Becker
