I agree... I run a Cummins 4BT in a '53M37 and consistently run 75mph on the freeway while getting 17mpg (around town average is more like 15mpg...). I have 4.89 gears, 0.73:1 overdrive, and Michelin 900r16XZL tires...
As far as the added weight over stock, I ended up adding a full length spring to the front leafs...
