All this talk about numbers over the last couple of days got me to go look at the numbers on my 52 PW. I always thought that it was a late '51 that was titled as a 52. Come to find out it was the 1884th built out of approximately 4000 built in Detroit in 1951. So it is a mid-year '51 that is titled as a 52.
I have always found '51 date stamps on the truck but have not looked up its VIN number for year. I have never found a '52 date on the truck as yet and now it makes even more sense since it is a mid year '51 truck. Here are some dates that I have seen on the truck
Body Tag: 5182-1305 may be 1805 as the paint makes it difficult to see.
Engine: '51
Head lights '51
Wheels '51
Frame number; mid-'53
Trans: '46 (suspect not original)
