I would highly recommend that you go ahead and get the comprehensive coverage.It is the cheapest part of auto insurance coverage, and just costs"pennies", compared to liability and collision. Without comprehensive,you will not be covered for fire, theft, vandalism, window breakage,Hitting a dear or other animal on the road,(first hand experience on this one), and a multitude of other things.
I have found that over the years, I have had very few claims on my collision coverage, but have filed numerous claims on my comprehensive coverage.
