First off, they wouldn't be able to GO anywhere much, as the old things would break so regularly. Dave's Unalterable Truth Of Life #1: Old Cars Break. Even my '79 Power Wag breaks, and I only drive it 1 or 2 days a week. I suppose that would be good for traffic, with less cars on the road...

Question: How well would 45-50 as top speed play on a road trip? And considering the gutless nature of flathead motors, you most likely would be looking at 35-40 uphill.

That may be, but you would be possibly liable to be cited for reckless driving in at least Georgia. There, under 45 on the interstate is reckless. And there's always the issue of beating the valve seats to pieces with unleaded gas...
