the Eastern Shore of Virginia. NASA Wallops Flight Facitity had to call in the Dept. of Agriculture to cull the herd on the base. They were becoming a serious aircraft hazard.
We even had one hit the Greenabckville Fire Department Engine and do some damage. Herds of 50+ are not unusal. We have a long hunting season but still the deer have optimum living conditions. Plenty of water, food and mild winters. Althought with the amount of mosquitos and ticks we have it's a wonder they are not sucked dry of blood in the spring/summer/fall. That's one of the reasons I bought my 55 PW. I volunteer EMS and sometimes I have to drive to the scene in a hurry. We are very rural. So time can make a diffence if the situation warrents it.
With the Power Wagon I don't care if a deer does run out in front of me. It's history. Almost every night on the scanner I hear of a deer hit. I've been critized before for my attitude by other members of this fourm. For them, come to the scene of a MVA were a car was hit by a deer, and the occupatins were injured and thier only car was totaled.
