Youn did good. I have been using and abusing dewalts - 3/8 cordless drill 14.4 volts. the drill is about 3-4 years old, I use it every day at least 2 hours most of the time more. I have had smoke pouring out of the motor at least 3 times using a 7/8 auger bit drilling thru an oak floor. now it has been dropped a zillion times, the batteries don't stay in anymore, I tape them in. i think I got my moneys worth.
