A little hard on the valves (but propane heads may have been available), you can run higher compression, you must change the advance curve & timing. A dual system does not work as good. Expect 10 to 20% less MPG if the engine is not built for propane, but if the price difference is simular to here propane is cheeper overall.
In the 70s or early 80s The Canadian govt. was offering rebates to people converting to FULL LPG systems. There are other tanks available. At one time Chryco & Ford (maybe GM) offered factory propane. I am sure there are others here that can expand on this. I run a 360 on LPG & it tows good, gets about 14 MPG, I like it. I have often thought of building an engine with the right cam etc for LPG. Any info?? Regards; George
