The two coolers from the factory were not large enough and were not well placed. The truck had the transmision replaced at 28,000 rebuilt at 70,000 under Warrenty and again at 140,000 due to the reverse clutches crapping out THe first rebuild everthing was done and upgraded as well as a transmission cooler added with electric fan on under the truck. I generally used this truck for driving to work and pulled a trailer 10-15 times a year. I had a 28ft Fifth wheel weighed 6400 lbs loaded. The truck was a duelly and the engine was great and everything else was good. My brother hadd the exact same truck as I did different color and it had the transmission replaced at 30,000 rebuilt at 74000 and when he sold it at 130000 last year it was needing it again. The transmission shop owner said that transmission was not the best design for that cummings and I guess so did dodge seeing they changed transmission models on the new style in 94. I also had two other friends driving the same basic truck one was a stick he sold it at 220,000 no Transmission problems. The other in automatic same thing.
