These Carmichael conversions are quite common for airfield use. It keeps the standard drive train and puts on an extra trailing axle which doesn't drive but carries it's share of the load.

Since most airfield service stuff doesn't do a lot of miles some of them are in very good condition, and there are ambulance and fire 4 x 4 versions with a humoungous rear overhang (which is probably why the extra trailing axle appeared)

The only fault is that if used on salt the chassis used to dissolve - note that the seller on this one says how good the chassis is. Not really a problem as you can get aftermarket galvanised chassis for pretty much any land Rover or Range Rover.

Obligatory Dodge content, got the paint masks for the VC 3 serial number today so it's stencilling time tomorrow, ice permitting.
