I just bought a 2004,2500 with the HO Cummins and automatic trans. I have had two other Dodge,Cummins 2500's with automatic trans, and have had no problems. I pull a heavily loaded 18' trailer,5 days a week, in constant stop and go traffic.I never bother to turn off the overdrive. Neither of my previous trucks ever had any trans. trouble. I would wear myself out if I had to spend all day shifting a stick transmission. I never even gave a thought to getting standard trans. when I bought this most recent truck.I have heard of people having trans. trouble with the dodges, but have had no complaints myself.
