I have a 01 dually and average 16.5 mpg. I have the 3.55 gears. My neighbor has 4.10's and gets 17-18 mpg (so he says). I replace the 235-75-16's with 255-75-16's and noticed a drop in fuel mileage to 16.1 MPG. But.....
Now when my speedo reads 65 mph I am actually doing 70 MPH and I noticed the turbo is spooled up a bit more.
If I keep it at 60, I consistently get 16.9 MPG. also I get better fuel economy if I keep the cruise off.
