I live in Rural Michigan in the Thumb area, about an hour and a half north of metro Detroit. I moved up to this area about 13 years ago, as a young boy. When I moved out here, I became country-fied really quick and fit in just like I been here all my life. Now we got these Curbsquirrel yuppies moving up here, buying up all the farmland like Crazy, and building this $350,000. Mini-Mansions and driving up property values and taxes sky high. Then they do nothing but coplain about the gravel roads, The farms that are left here, the people who enjoy the land for hunting, and people who like to collect vehicles. Then you drive into town and they are rude, cut you off, flip you off, and almost hit you because they are talking on their dadgum cell phones. If you have a farm truck loaded down and your crusing at 45 MPH with a load of hay on the back, they will honk, shake their fist, and try to run you off the road. They are trying to make this nice area into the Cesspool they left. THe farms and country were here first, lets leave it. The area I bought my land and trailer in, if you mention the name of the town, most folks just ask, why do you wanna live there? theres nothing but Hillbillies and White trash up there...Well Exactly! it will keep the City slickers out and we can enjoy our peacfull country lifestyle! I love it there for now, but once it gets too built up, I am gonna have to keep pushing farther and farther out. I dont mean for this post to make people mad, I am speaking from the perspective that alot of us see things from around here. If you must move up here from the City, then leave your City back there. We dont want it here.
