This morning at 9:30 AM my alarm clock went off, and that was what I heard...I heard the news on the radio about Saddam being captured. The first thing I did was call a good friend of mine who is a 1991 Gulf War Vet and told him (I knew he'd still be sleeping so I figured he'd LOVE to wake up to that!) Shure nuff, he was Estacatic! He told me he was gonna call some of his old USMC buddies up and have them come over the Celebrate! Hearing the news was definatly a good start to a good day.
My Lady Friend I mentioned a few times here on the forumn is home on leave from Baghdad Iraq right now. I spent the evening with her and when I first walked in the door, the first thing she said to me was " Hey, did ya hear we nabbed Hussein?" She was very happy and rightfully so. She has been in Iraq since March. She metioned during that time, she has had a few close calls. Luckly, God has kept her safe. She also mentioned that she wish she would have been there in Iraq today, as she felt she really wanted to be with her commrades during this time.
This war is far from over. True, we nabbed the 'queen bee' and once the queen bee dies, so do the drones. Hopefully the resistance and attacks to our troops will stop. But things are still far from over. Time to rebuild and help them set back up.
And then, there is still Bin Laden to contend with........
