My father in law is still around and is my only elder, if you will. He's 80 years old now and was a fire plow operator for 23 years, it shook his guts apart, I think.. He always tells stories about when they were out of fire season. In the winter months, I guess they would haul Army Surplus Vehicles. He Always says, you could start and drive those Dodge's but, the Kaisers Jeeps were dead, most of the time with a hole in the block......
