Hello, PW friends,
Some of you already knew tha i am a public affairs NCO in the Army Reserve and drill with a unit in Atlanta. I just wanted to let one of my online families know that I was called up last Monday (01DEC) to deploy with a sister unit, another mobile public affairs detachment, out of Orlando. I went to Fort Jackson, SC, Tues, Wed, Thurs lat week for some processing, rebuilt the transmission I had out of my CJ3B Thursday night and Friday morning, packed up my office, packed my gear, and (with some greatly appreciated help from my dad -- Pop and the CJ3B were with me at the Southern PW Rally in TN in May) put the tranny back in the Jeep, finished packing and headed to Orlando Sunday to link up with the unit. We have spent the last couple of days getting our gear loaded and will be heading to Fort Stewart, GA, tomorrow (10DEC) to further prepare to deploy to Iraq within the next few weeks. I read this forum religiously, and, even thoughI don't post very often, I consider it one of my online homes. Joe, thanks for providing a place for such great folks to gather.
